REACH OUT AND READ
Main Street Pediatrics has partnered with Reach Out and Read for 13 years to foster learning and educational growth from a young age. The program provides books for children aged 6 months through 5 years old, encouraging parents to participate in and engage in bonding with your child through reading.
During each Well Child visit, for children from 6 months to 5 years old, your child will be provided an age appropriate book to take home.
Take time to read with your child every day. Naptime, playtime or bedtime are great opportunities to engage and bond with your child through learning. Even at a very young age, children love to look at the pictures and learn what things are. Storybooks teach your child new words. Toddlers can learn 2-4 words a day and by continuing this throughout their growth you will see them flourish in their vocabulary and soon they’ll be reading to you!
